Proactiv isn’t Proactive – How Water Will Hurt Your Skin

The large majority of all the acne treatment products on the market today, including Proactiv, are water based.  While drinking water certainly will help your skin, it is not an ideal ingredient for skin care products.  In order for water to promote healthy skin, the water must be within the human skin, which is impossible for water based acne and skin care products.  There are numerous negative side effects that are possible by using water based acne products, like Proactiv, including: itchy skin, dry skin resulting in peeling, and blotchy, red spots that cannot be hidden with standard makeup or other at-home techniques.

The best way to make sure you are buying an acne product that will not damage your skin and actually get rid of acne, is to find an acne product that is aloe vera based.  Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years and is known for its healing abilities as a result of over seventy-five nutrients that help skin look beautiful.  These are minerals that water based acne products do not have in them, which means you are wasting your money on acne products that aren’t proactive, like Proactiv.
